2Kg of dadacha Edamame (Soybean) With Melons and Ice Cream

Hello its Kinoshita Yuka (change font size color and transparency via the options menu) So, Today. Tadaa. I have ‘DadaChya’ edamame beans from
Tsuruoka in Yamagata Prefecture Dadacha edamame beans have only been grown in Tsuruoka.
They have roots in that region dating back to the Edo period compared to regular soybeans these dadacha edamame
are sweeter, have more umami and more fragrant I really look forward to trying these
also! The secret to harnessing the true flavor of the dadacha beans is to boil them correctly
alrighty lets boil these beans! before rinsing add a bit of water and firmly wash the beans
making sure to clean the fine hairs on the bean then transfer to a colander and drain
in a pot boil water equivalent to 3X the amount of beans add a bit of salt and bring to a boil
then add our washed beans to it then cover for 3-4 minutes quickly drain, flavor with salt and quickly cool with a fan
if you have no fan you can immerse in ice water and sprinkle with salt prior to serving ok they look yummy don’t they
tadaa, boiling these guys properly is important Tsuruoka is also known for their melons and La France pear
ice cream. I gathered them for today’s meal ITADAKIMASU lets start with this yummy looking dadacha bean
look at how nice the bean looks its got a nice bite to it and with a wonderful taste and aroma
its absolutely delicious today I have 2kg of these soy beans this is my first time eating 2kg of soybeans
they’re so yummy I feel they’ll be gone in an instant these beans are really packed with sweetness and umami
and with a dusting of salt it makes for such a yummy treat I’ve always wanted to eat a belly full of edamame since I was
a kid. it was a dream of mine.. Edamame are things that are usually served in small portions
and today being able to have this huge bowl to myself… dreams come true.
to top it off I get to eat the King of soybeans … The Dadacha bean they truly are the King of Edamame and taste very good
these definitely do taste better than any edamame I’ve had before being able to eat these from their hulls is nice
these edamame are wonderful I just found a way to eat edamame quickly
push them at the same time and they both come out and you can
quickly eat both at the same time. lol that’s my story and
I’m sticking to it now I’ll try these ‘Tonosama’ (Lord/Baron) dadacha bean
^They’re a freeze dried bean^ they’re so light and crispy they’re a nice snack
its got that great dadacha bean taste. They’re wonderful final one next I’ll try these melons
first I’ll have this Andes melon I love eating melons like this its so sweet and juicy now I’ll have a ‘Tsuruhime’ melon this one has a very refreshing taste next is a ‘Tsuruhime RED’ mm the fruit is so tender next I have 3 flavors of ice cream
I’ll start off with this dadacha bean ice cream oooh its a green color
its got a nice mild dadacha flavor to it the bean has such a nice and creamy flavor to it
it tastes so fabulous . the dadacha beans are incorporated into the ice cream next is a ‘Tsuruhime RED’ melon ice cream
its got the same color as the melon I ate before mm the flavor of the melon is so pronounced here next is a ‘La France’ pear it looks like this
it really tastes like La France pear made into ice cream this just might be my first time trying “La France” ice cream and finally this ‘Shonai Sakkyu’ Melon Jelly
its so firm and jiggle and the aroma of melon is intoxicating its like taking a bite of a melon final mouthful gochisosamadeshita
being able to eat 2kg of dadacha beans was wonderful being able to have a belly full of soybeans is something
that you don’t get to do that often and these melons were so decadent and delicious
